Rather than crossing the high passes to the South Base Camp as well, this trek follows the Tamor River and Ghunsa valley up to Pangpema and back the same way, making it a more time-efficient way to stand beneath Kanchenjunga while still passing through the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area's remote wilderness and Limbu and Rai villages. The journey begins with a flight to Bhadrapur followed by a drive to Taplejung, where the trail sets off along the Tamor River through Mitlung, Chirwa, and Sekathum before climbing through forest to Amjilosa, Gyabla, and the beautiful Limbu village of Ghunsa, the main acclimatization stop of the trek. From Ghunsa the trail continues to Khambachen and Lhonak, crossing increasingly glacial terrain before the final push to Pangpema at 5,143 metres, with close-up views of Kanchenjunga's north face, Wedge Peak, and Jannu.<\/p>\n","cost_includes":"Airport pick-up and drop-off \nTwo nights' hotel accommodation in Kathmandu Domestic flights between Kathmandu, Bhadrapur, and Taplejung \nKanchenjunga Restricted Area Permit (RAP) \nKanchenjunga Conservation Area Project (KCAP) permit \nLicensed English-speaking trekking guide \nPorter service (shared basis) \nTeahouse and lodge accommodation during the trek \nFull-board meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) during the trek \nGuide's salary, insurance, accommodation, and meals \nFirst aid medical kit \nGovernment taxes and service charges","cost_excludes":"International airfare \nNepal entry visa fees \nTravel insurance (mandatory) \nPersonal trekking equipment \nHot showers, Wi-Fi, battery charging, and laundry Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks \nTips for guides and porters \nPersonal expenses \nEmergency rescue or helicopter evacuation","itineraries":[{"title":"Arrival in Kathmandu","content":"\n
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, where our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel.
